I remembered Yuletide's existence far too late to sign up for that, which is a bit of a pity, but I'm immensely excited to see what sort of incredible stuff people create for this year. There's so many great fandoms in the tag already and I'm more or less quivering with anticipation for reveals.

My public_call fic hasn't been revealed, but it's only a matter of time. Stay tuned! And on that note, I've been keeping up with basically all the fics in that particular exchange so far and they are ALL excellent, although sadly I haven't had a chance to leave reviews/comments on... well, any of them at all. I definitely need to get around to that. Consider this a reminder to myself.

...and finally, since I haven't been able to do any other seasonal exchanges, I ended up setting myself to the task of writing prompt!fics for several of my closer/RL friends for Candlenights and/or Otherstide. There's going to be 2-3 of them, in various fandoms, soon. If I asked you for fic prompts, you can cross your fingers for me to deliver. Maybe.

Well, I'm nearing 37000 words (!!) on this blasted fic, and the characters are beginning to rebel. Which I should have seen coming from the beginning, considering the situations that I have been conspiring (with myself) to put them into; and yet I'm still surprised.

1) I'm beginning to regret writing this out of order. Mainly because I'm currently halfway through writing the chapter 10 Epic Dramatic Confrontation scene, and the chapter 4 Dinner Party Scene where all of the plot threads for the reveal are set up is still at *checks* 243 words. And I have no idea how to even begin working on it. But that's just how my brain works when I'm writing these longfics, I guess.

2) Why did I pick this particular TV show to crossover with? Why oh why? I've realized just now that I cannot write any of the characters in this particular series to save my life, and even worse - they're not contributing enough to the plot for me to justify them being there.

2.5) but i can't get rid of them at this point. I'm too far into this for me to stop now.

3) Both Seven and Ace want, quite ferociously, to kill one particular character. Like, really properly kill. They have complete justification for wanting to do so, and it might even make sense story-wise for them to do it. But nonetheless - I can't morally let them commit homicide. And I'm actually afraid that I won't be able to stop them from doing it.

4) I'm also afraid that I won't finish this fic in time for the deadline. (I'm doing it for a Big Bang challenge. I swear, I didn't mean for it to get this long!) Hopefully they'll give me an extension, if I don't manage to get it all done by then.
