Adventures In Seeking
Aug. 30th, 2018 07:53 pmToday I finally realized that I didn't actually need to gain any more SMEN levels in order to gain more Weeping Scars. So I ended up getting the last four ones over the course of a lazy, no-work-accomplished sort of day (and managing to complete the Well Dive on the first try!). I'm currently dead for the fourth time today, but at least I've got that all over and done with. Now that I've properly got started with this self-destructive, sadomasochistic journey, hopefully it'll go quicker from now on.
I have also realized some things in regards to the Reticent Professor's own Seeking quest, which I suspect I will write more of in due course. First of all: I already (very) vaguely implied this in sing north, but he completed all of the Scars in quick succession in one day. (He may be accustomed to playing the long game, but in some manners he is very impatient indeed.) Secondly, doing this involved coming back from the dead no less than ten times, because the Well took several turns to properly take in his case. It's a very good thing he's excellent at chess, otherwise he wouldn't have made it back as quickly as he did - although he is now a very frequent opponent of the Boatman; something that may become a problem in future.
Oh, and if it wasn't obvious: the Irreverent Pyrotechnician knows that something's up. She might not be entirely sure of what it is quite yet, but she's not an idiot, and she's going to figure out what he's up to at some point or other.Who knows, she might actually end up joining him
